Remarks

If it is the case that during the usage of PIEdit some problems occure, then look at the following remarks first:

- NOTE: Please put down no ohter files into the directories highlight and expand
- If ADDSH command is used, with the open files sh_all

- button must be pressed (this button syntax highlights the whole document again)
- Pictures cannot be pasted by external programs
- For non Windows users (e.g. Unix) must the splashscreen by the parameter -nss (or - nosplashscreen) with the call of PIEdit to be forced away!!!
- Opening large files (>3MB) should be avoided
- Garbage collector + run finalization by button possible (in lower toolbar (GC-button))
- > Java internal release of memory
- Exe commands become syntax checked
- > the command is wrongly the syntax of the command is indicated
- > Knows one the syntax of a command no more, then simply only enter the command and press the Exe Button
- Starting parameters "- dt" to spend current date and time when starting PIEdit
- with the program manager (execution of a program, e.g. compiler) the last 25 characters of the error/input streams are indicated immediately
- > line interlacings are replaced in the announcement through @
- If the sh_load

- button is pressed, all open documents becomes newly syntax-highlighted again (all undo/redos of these open files are deleted (is unfortunately necessary))
- All internal exception which one must to intercept by Java programming, become with the call directly into a tab of PIEdit rerouted. (Remark: Such should arise an exception, save the exception text and e-mail me)
- Note: So that the internal Java compiler call functions must be set the environment variable PATH permanently correctly (with Windows 98 in autoexec.bat, with Windows XP over control panel/system…), since otherwise an exception in PIEdit is indicated. Guidance: see installation hints of the Java compiler. With e.g. J2SDK1.4.2 32Bit under "5. Update the PATH variable" (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/install-windows.html).
- Best one uses the new JDK 1.4.2, there the selection of files (filechooser) around up to 300-times speeded up.
- Redundant indications are removed automatically when storing a file (blanks or tabulators at the end of a line and blank lines at the end of the file)
- With my computer it is like that, that the printing into a file does not function. The print function functioned only if I send an illustrated text directly to the printer. That is perhaps in addition, only one error with my computer.
Printing pure texts without pictures makes however no problems.
- When saving indicate also suffix (one does not attach automatically!!!)
